OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. OEM cartridges are the most expensive on the market because they're branded and come straight from the machine's manufacturer (HP, Xerox, Brother, Dell, etc.)

The majority of these cartridges are made overseas.

Though OEMs offer a premimum brand they hold a premimum price of 40-60% more than New Compatibles and Remanufactured cartridges.

New Compatible cartridges are also new cartridges except for the shell. All the essential mechanics of the cartridge are new (drum, whipper blades, rollers, etc).

These cartridges meet the federal government's manufactureing guidelines listed in the Trad Agreement Act. New Compatibles cost less than OEMs simply because they are not name brand.
